Professional Experience Technically my focus lies on various different techniques such as weaving, screen printing and block printing. I believe the world of colors to be a nourishing element of our personal environments. My vision is to explore the language of colors, to create unique color combinations, which strike a balance between harmony and change, thus opening up new windows to the color spaces we have become accustomed to.

I define my work as woven color fields which can be seen both as art on a wall and as a part of one’s personal environment. I believe that color fields have the power to enhance our environments and create a special atmosphere that enables us to keep alive the defining moments in our lives. My work goes back to color sketches of natural and cultural scenery or color memories. Each of my work pieces are to be viewed as the individual pages of a ‘travel color diary’, and amount to a sharing of the myriad color experiences associated with environments around the world. My work thrives on the sheer diversity and individualism of different cultures, while simultaneously moving within the context of European contemporary art.

Cennet .. ( turkish – heaven )

..a place on heaven , close to Istanbul. Last weekend I have been visiting a friend of mine who owes one of the most beautiful houses on  Princes Island. If there is a place on heaven it is one of the places ….flushing  green nature with botanical gardens, , as palm trees, roses, linden trees ,pine trees, and more …the white wooden ottoman style mansions (konak or kosk)  are a beautiful contrast. the colour you get intoxicated are greenshades, rose pink, violett ,mauve, yellow, red and white … …… a silent- beautiful island near Istanbul.P1070023 P1070039 P1070029 P1070027 P1070026 P1070031 P1070032 P1070034 P1070041 P1070042 P1070039 P1070046 P1070047 P1070054 P1070020 P1070066 P1070079 P1070082 P1070086 P1070088 IMG_1958 IMG_1957 IMG_1962 IMG_1961

Ἁγία Σοφία – devine wisdom

“devine wisdom “( greek) AYA SOFIA  the Byzantine Church was built 532

Constantinople was for 1000 years the center of the Byzantine Empire.

The grand dome of the Hagia Sophia, an impressive technical feat for its time, is often thought to symbolize the infinity of the cosmos signified by the Holy Soul to which the church was dedicated. The Ottoman conquest of Constantinople in 1453, which put an end to the Byzantine Empire, began the era of Islamic worship in the holy structure, which Mehmed II converted into a mosque after his conquest. Minarets were added and all graven images were plastered over. Hagia Sophia was a source of inspiration for Ottoman builders.

About me

Experiencing Art and Design in different cultures has played a significant role throughout my life. I was born as an Austrian in Kathmandu Nepal in the late 60s and i had the opportunity to witness different cultures over the years until now. As a passionate textile artist and designer i have lived and worked in Europe, Asia and Turkey. I was educated in Vienna and I completed my MA in Textiles at the Academy of fine arts.

Over the years I began to understand what freedom means in a personal, social and political context – the basic understanding what it means to life in a social society – to observe the plus and minus points related to our environment- and how I can contribute to society. Being a culturally open person  with diverse cultural experiences has helped me to evolve a deeper knowledge with my growing years and experience. I would like to share my aquired sensibilities and regional technical knowhow towards design art and the inevitable life.
